The one thing you won't forget after meeting the genial Tom Morton of Glengormley Northern Ireland is his memory. It is phenomenal. Tom until recently lived in Blackpool Lancashire as the 'Memory Man' but his reputation as a 'Human Switchboard' travelled with him as he continues to amaze people with an uncanny ability to commit to memory the contents of telephone directories. I met the 42-year-old entertainer the other day and to be quite fair,I had my doubts and reservations over what he had earlier told me over the phone what he could actually remember. So to convince me he asked me to open his Blogspot on which were listed countless addresses of hotels and restaurants all across the kingdom. Beside each was it's weblink, telephone number and faxsimile and Tom challenged me to scroll the website and pick any of the names at random. As the scroll is virtually infinite you can guess that I had plenty of choice of latitude in my random choice of names. Ricks Steins Restaurant in Padstow, the Imperial Hotel in Blackpool,A Wine Bar in Belfast: I named them from the list with a lot of obscure others and Tom Rattled of the telephone numbers without the slightest hestitation. It was uncanny as I almost thought he knew what I was thinking. Perhaps he did! And on the advice of Ulster Stage Hypnotist Barry Sinclair,he left for Blackpool to entertain the holidaymakers and learn the fearless art of stand-up stage mentalist. Currently he is now anticipating applying his cabaret experience as an introduction to the foundation of http://www.bedsandbellies.com/ -The Roamer of the Belfast Newsletter.
